Role: Project Designer, Enclosure Design Lead / Completed 2018

with Handel Architects

Overlooking the Manhattan skyline from across the East River in Greenpoint Brooklyn, One Blue Slip draws inspiration from the areas industrial heritage as a former ship yard and manufacturing hub. Saw-toothed window bays project out to maximize views while also recalling the geometry of naturally lit factory roofs and fenestration patterns once prevalent in the area. A new public waterfront park re-establishes a connection to the river to benefit the surrounding neighborhood.

Our partner, Chris Emens, was the lead technical architect for the building envelope, and worked closely with project engineers, façade consultant and vendors to develop overall façade strategy.
