Chelsea Market
New York, NY / Adaptive Reuse, Retail 50,000 SF Role: Project Architect, Project Manager / Completed 2018
with Studios Architecture
Occupying the site of the first Nabisco factory, today Chelsea Market represents a prime New York tourist destination. The basement redevelopment started with a complex occupancy change filing that allowed the client to convert the mechanical and storage spaces to active retail. Following the approval of the change in use, the first phase of the redevelopment saw the first basement retail spaces in the basement - a grocery store, an interactive art space, and a music venue.
As a Project Architect and Project Manager, our partner Delia Conache directed the design and technical aspects for all the building upgrades, redevelopment projects and leasing studies. She also developed tracking tools and streamlined overall project organization.
